week 6 reflection 25/11/08

Today I came into the lab and started working on my project. Ms Nah also taught the class on using audicity for recording the voice for the breezer. I tried to record my voice but my computer keep having problems. firstly, the speakers was not connected properly and so, i had to adjust back the speakers. next, the mike cannot seem to work and no matter what i do, it cannot be able to record my voice. so, i just gave up and spent my time working on my hot potatos.
i have also completed the quizes.I have made finish the crossword puzzle and a close passage based on HAP and they have 5 questions each.
Ms Nah also taught me on using the hyperlink to link the quizes to my powerpoint.
Now all that remains is recording my voice and inserting it into the brezzer before submitting it.
next week is the due date and i hope i can complete it on time.

2 e-learning websites I found on the net.

Pros:

1. Have many links to different Chinese websites to learn simple Chinese.

2. Have audio for listening to the Chinese language being pronounced.

3. Have flash to test the user knowledge on the Chinese language.

4. Have video clips and movies to show people speaking Chinese.

Cons:

1. Some flash and videos can’t seem to load.

2. Some websites are dead links.

Overall, I find this website a very good e-learning website.

Pros:

1. There are flash lessons to teach the user about typing.

2. There are exercises for the user to practice his typing skill and speed.

3. There is also a speed test to test the user’s typing speed.

Cons:

1. The website is too plain. Simple background.

2. No video and audio aids for the user to learn.

Overall, I find this website an average website for e-learning.

week 5 reflection

Today Ms Nah never come as she had taken mc. so, I just do abit of the project and went home.

week 4 reflection!

today was learning about brezzer and how to create them with the powerpoint slides.
i think it was easy and the brezzer is just at the powerpoint la!wa...its like super obvious and I never notice it.
so after that was finishing the remaining of the power point slides and created them with the brezzer.
I think I did not really did a good job with the power point as i think i just did a rough draft of what im suppose to do for the project.
anyway today I also learnt on how to use the hot potato.
The hot potato is rather easy to use and I think I have learnt how to use another new tool for my e-learning!HAHAHAHA~!
1st was JQuiz.this was basically short-answer and mcq questions.I think this is like the easiest tool as it was rather straight forward.The other tools like Jcross and Jmatch all seems to be more complicated and I feel that the tools may require for me to explore more and finally understand how to use them.So,for overall of the hot potatos,the tools are rather simple to use and does not really require much knowlege for me and I think i can really create very useful materials from using hot potato.

Week 3

Today EELD lesson was rather dry as I just basically explore the powerpoint 2007.
But firstly,Ms Nah went through the ADDIE model.Which stands for Analysis,Design,Development,Implementation and Evaluation.
She also went through the different power point slides and how to do a power point.
I really feel that I have learnt the skills of doing a power point slide now.

After that,I have to start the e-learning powerpoint package.So I get down to creating the slides.However,it is proved to be more diffcult than it looks.Especially when I have to use the master slide to create the powerpoint.That was really a challenge but soon,I learnt the basics of the master slide and I finally understood how to use the master slide.Powerpoint 2007 is really differnt from 2003 man.Got so many new features that I was not even aware of.

So that was all for today and after 3 hours I feel like I have learnt quite a lot of things about powerpoint and creating powerpoint slides.

Week 2 Reflection 28/10/08

Today was the second lesson of EELD.And today I firstly learn about what is e-learning?
So I paired up with SL and learnt that e-learning is learning with an aid of a computer and e-learning is using anything digital to teach somebody.

I have also learnt the pros and cons of e-learning.Mainly the pros are that learning can take place at anytime and anywhere.Also,learning can be self-paced and the user can take his time to understand the contents of the e-learning package.Finally the person's work can be tracked anytime and the contents can be updated or change easily.

However there are drawbacks to the e-learning.Mainly is that the person will become lazy and will not do his work by e-learn.Also,the person may be addicted to his computer and as a result,he will have no social life.

Also,I was briefed about the project.I learnt that this time, I can choose my own subject to create an e-learning package.This really gives me the freedom of what I can do for the project,instead of being restricted to a certain topic.

Afer that was a short 15 minutes break before going back for lessons.

next is the creation of a blog for EELD.I used my blog accout to create another blog just for this subject and here I am now blogging about this week reflection.
